Kiel imparts a special feeling of life on the water during all seasons of the year.  The expanse of the fjord shapes the maritime atmosphere. The highlight of summer is Kiel Week (KielerWoche).
This sailing festival, the largest in the world, is held for ten days in June, and brings together top athletic performances with the largest summer festival in Northern Europe.

The festival serves as a meeting point for the best sailors of every continent, and, at the same time, as a social stage for diplomats, politicians and scientists. We will happily provide you with further information regarding sightseeing opportunities in and around Kiel.
