The Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) North is the only academic cancer center in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is part of the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein with its two medical faculties in Kiel and Lübeck and headquartered in Kiel.
By now several of the region's most important hospitals affiliated themselves to the CCC North as cooperating members. As a consequence approximately 70% of all patients in Schleswig-Holstein suffering from cancer may be treated according to the high level standards of a CCC both in terms of diagnoses and therapies. This beneficial situation is unique in Germany and assures best and area-wide treatment for all persons concerned.
In the CCC North medical doctors and scientists are translating novel scientific developments and findings into new options for therapies. Hence, patients can be offered new and effective treatments with less side-effect.
In addition to patient care and scientific research the CCC North offers a variety of advanced training and skill enhancement possibilities for both professionals and students.
